General rules

Urhea Center is above all a day-to-day training center for competitive and high-performance athletes. Clubs of the Helsinki metropolitan area use the facility in the evenings and weekends, primarily for the training of young people aiming for the top.

We want to guarantee everyone in the facility a good and safe environment without any bullying or inappropriate behavior. We encourage everyone to consider other users of the facility and to promote a sense of community, for example by greeting other visitors at the campus.

The staff’s instructions regarding order and safety and other instructions must be strictly followed. A person or entity, that violates these regulations or other instructions, may be guided to leave the facility and they may be prohibited from using the facility either for a specified period of time or indefinitely.

Passage in the facility

All users of the facility must have a personal access card, which cannot be lent to others. The access card works in the facility one hour before the booked practice slot and one hour after the practice slot. The facility is accessed only through the gates at the lobby, one person at a time. The sports facilities are accessed through the locker rooms.

The facility is always exited through the gates at the lobby. Emergency exits are only used for emergency situations.

The Children’s groups arriving for practice are being picked up by the coaches of the group from the lobby of the facility for the practice slot. Parents (except team leaders) do not have access further to the facility.

Urhea Center can bill the security guard for unnecessary alarms.

Personal items

Personal belongings are taken to the locker for the duration of the training session. Thus, any personal items cannot be left in the locker room. Urhea Center is not responsible for items that may be lost from the locker rooms.

Personal belongings cannot be left in the hall overnight, neither in the dressing room nor in the locker.

Use of the premises

The group who has a reservation for the respective slot has a right to use the room either on their regular or additional slot. The users must be equipped with suitable equipment and footwear.

All premises must be kept clean. Equipment may not be moved to another space without the permission of the staff of the Urhea Center. After each exercise, the equipment shall always be returned to their place to enable a convenient training session for each user. In addition, returning the equipment is necessary to enable the daily cleaning of each room. The coach in charge of the practice slot is responsible for the cleanliness of the premises at the end of their group’s practice.

The corridors and emergency exits are kept free of any equipment.

General practice space on the -1st floor

Groups using regular slot may freely use the General Conditioning Area on -1 floor before and after practice, for warm-ups and cool-downs by the guidance of the coach. The equipment of Urhea Center is designed for all users from juniors and older. However, small children cannot be allowed in the facility for safety reasons.

Parent-child groups warm-up together with the children in their respective facilities. In these occasions, the parent does not have the right to go to the General Conditioning Area to do e.g. their own individual training.

Using strength training space

In the Strength and Conditioning room, the clubs are allowed to train on regular slots under the guidance of a coach. The age limit for Strength and Conditioning area is 15 years. Users of the Strength and Conditioning room can also use -1 floor General Conditioning area in the case of the Strength and Conditioning room being full.

Use of the loft in the arena for warm-up

Basketball players can use the loft in the arena for warm-ups and cool-downs.

Pets

We want to enable practicing for people allergic to animals to practice in the facility. Therefore, bringing pets into the Urhea Center is prohibited. Regarding a possible guide dog, one should our reception in advance.

Sports equipment

Equipment must not be moved to another room or floor without the permission of the staff of Urhea Center. After the exercise, the equipment shall always be returned to their place. After each exercise, the equipment shall always be returned to their place to enable a convenient training session for each user. In addition, returning the equipment is necessary to enable the daily cleaning of each room. The coach in charge of the practice slot is responsible for the cleanliness of the premises at the end of their group’s practice.

Should any equipment be missing, something breaks or is broken, it must immediately be informed to the coach of the group or the reception of Urhea Center.

Liability for damages

Should the customer intentionally damage the equipment in the facility, the building or or any property, he is obliged to compensate the damage in full.

Valuables and found goods

Valuables should be left at home. However, if customers bring valuable items to the facility, they should be put in their own storage locker during practice. Urhea Center is not responsible for customers’ property that may be lost in the facility.

Video recording

Video recording in the Urhea Center is prohibited without permission. The photography ban does not apply to one’s own coaching situation or competition and match events.

Intoxicants, and banned or doping substances

Smoking is prohibited in Urhea Center and its vicinity.

The use of intoxicants is prohibited in Urhea Center and in its premises. Should there be an intoxicated person in the facility causing disturbance, it must be informed to the staff.

Urhea Center is a doping-free area. The use of any kind of doping substances or methods is not allowed in the whole campus area. Urhea co-operates closely with the Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS).
